Shaitaan Box Office Day 1: R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn and Jyotika’s Thriller Earns Rs 14.50 Cr On Its First Day

Shaitaan Box Office Collection Day 1: R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn and Jyotika’s Shaitaan finally hit theatres on Friday and received a positive response from critics and fans. It has now been reported that the Vikas Bahl directorial performed decent at the box office on its opening day. As reported by the industry tracker Sacnilk, Shaitaan earned Rs 14.50 crore across languages in India on its first day.

Shaitaan had an overall occupancy of 25.70% in the Hindi areas on Friday, March 08. While morning shows saw an occupancy of 13.54%, it increased to 25% in the evening. However, with Saturday and Sunday ahead, the earnings of Shaitaan are only expected to increase in the coming days.

Shaitaan is presented by Jio Studios, Devgn Films and Panorama Studios. It is being produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak and directed by Vikas Bahl. It is a psychological thriller in which ‘Shaitaan’ R Madhavan takes charge of Ajay Devgn’s daughter.

Shaitaan marks Jyotika’s first Bollywood film in 25 years. She made her acting debut with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, in Hindi, back in 1997. She then explored the Tamil film industry and made a mark for herself in the South. She returned to Bollywood in 2001 for the bilingual film Little John.

News18 Showsha’s review of the film reads, “Shaitaan is a complete Madhavan movie, and what an arc. From a chocolate hero to a lover boy, he has come a long way in this work. He looks eerie, and sounds too, oscillating between two diametrically opposite images – a sage and a villain. If Devgn plays the loving father, determined to take his daughter out of the Satan’s clutches, Madhavan is the very incarnate of a demon. Jyotika is flawless as the distraught mother who watches helplessly as Jhanvi plays a puppet, whose strings are controlled by Vanraaj.”
