News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024: Manoj Bajpayee’s Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai Wins Best Film Jury Award

News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024 winners were announced on March 9 and Manoj Bajpayee’s Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai was presented with the Best Film (Jury). Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai released in May 2023 and was directed by Apoorv Singh Karki. Manoj was present at the News18 Showsha Reel Awards ceremony on Saturday with the team of Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai to accept the award. The team expressed their gratitude towards the jury members for picking their film.

For the unversed, this year’s News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024 jury featured comprised the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi, filmmaker Aanand L Rai, actors Kabir Bedi and Meenakshi Seshadri, directors Neeraj Ghaywan and Anvitaa Dutt and News18’s Entertainment Editor Tavishi Paitandy.

Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai skipped the theatrical release and was streamed directly on Zee5. Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai is a courtroom drama that revolves around a five-year-long standalone fight of a regular session court lawyer who stands for the truth, and his struggle to bring justice to the girls who were wronged by a godman. The film was directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and written by Deepak Kingrani.

News18 Showsha gave the film a four-star rating in our review and wrote, “The film is never for a second, boring. The complex courtroom drama that borrows much from true-life events will keep you on the edge of your seat. Don’t miss it.”

Meanwhile, the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024 took place on March 9, Saturday. The grand event took place at Taj Land’s End in Mumbai. The Showsha Reel Awards 2024 honoured the best works on the big and small screens. The year 2023 was memorable for the film industry. We witnessed a box-office blow-up with records shattered by Pathaan, Jawan, Gadar 2, and Animal. Apart from watching box office records being broken, the industry also witnessed some memorable performances on the big and small screen. These included the dazzling performances by the cast of Jubilee or performances by Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, and many others in several films.
