In an interview, Babil Khan discussed the difficult times when Irrfan’s fame would separate him from Babil, even when he was just 10 years old.

Irrfan Khan was among the finest actors Bollywood ever had. Though he’s no longer with us, his exceptional films still hold a special place in our hearts. Continuing his father’s legacy, Babil Khan, often praised for his acting skills, often reminds fans of his late father. In a recent interview, the young actor discussed the difficult times when Irrfan’s fame would separate him from Babil, even when he was just 10 years old.

Speaking to MensXP, Babil Khan shared heartfelt memories from his childhood. He revealed that his father’s fame often caused them to be separated, as crowds would pull Irrfan Khan away. Babil recalled that, as a child, even just a few minutes of his father holding his hand meant everything to him. “So when a bodyguard comes and takes him away because the crowd is rushing to him and that hand gets pulled away, for the child, I think it’s very traumatic. I had distance from my father, physical distance because he was shooting a lot, but he was very affectionate towards me when he was there,” said Babil.

A month back, Babil, on his late father’s birth anniversary, wrote a heartfelt note and shared it on social media.

Babil made his Bollywood debut with Qala. Recently, he starred in The Railway Men alongside Kay Kay Menon, R. Madhavan, Divyenndu, and others. Next, he will be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s The Umesh Chronicles, alongside Amitabh Bachchan.

Irrfan Khan was among the finest actors Indian cinema has ever seen. A recipient of honours such as the National Film Award and Padma Shri, Irrfan began his acting journey with Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay! (1988). He managed to establish himself as a favourite of the audiences with movies like Paan Singh Tomar, Hindi Medium and Piku. Irrfan died from complications of neuroendocrine cancer on April 29, 2020. His demise left a void in Indian cinema.
